What is a good GMAT score is a very common question on the mind of every aspirant. While we generally advice our aspirants to always aim higher than they usually do there is no absolute answer to the question. Most of the time good GMAT score would depend on the college one is aspiring for. For instance, some colleges put higher importance to GMAT score than other parameters while others lay equal importance to all the parameters. The best way to address this question is to research and then research some more. All the business schools publish their detailed class profile which will give a fairly good idea of what is a good score for that particular school.
Some of the important points to keep in mind regarding GMAT score are mentioned below:
- Higher the score better it is: It is always advisable to have a score on the higher side of the requirement.
- Scholarships: A higher score always improves chances of you qualifying for scholarships.
- Higher score doesn’t guarantee admission: This is absolutely important as we get students who believe that a good GMAT score is a sure shot way to a reputed business school, but when the results come out they are in for a rude shock. So we keep reiterating that while high GMAT score improves chances of admission, it is definitely not a guarantee of an admission.
