I excelled at the course and obtained a CET rank of 657 out of 1.39 lakh candidates in one of the most competitive aptitude tests. My hard work got me admission into one of the best colleges in the state XYZ and chose my specialization in Computer Science.

The XYZ curriculum not only provided me with a solid grounding in computer science fundamentals but also exposed me to emerging fields within the discipline. My keen interest in these subjects led me to excel, earning an A grade in Data Structures and Algorithms, as well as Programming Languages and Compilers, while maintaining strong grades in other courses. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I actively engaged in various projects. One notable project involved the development of a prototype for a Software Information Management System, utilizing Visual Basic and SQL Server. I take great pride in the fact that this project was recognized as one of the top three in my college. Additionally, I played a key role in the development of a tool called Twitter Data Mining and Analytics, leveraging Twitter APIs to retrieve trending topics and conduct sentiment analysis. Beyond these projects, my undergraduate curriculum and assignments have established a robust foundation in diverse aspects of computer science, providing me with essential skills to thrive in graduate school.

For my BTech project I undertook IoT-Enabled Smart Home Automation System project at the intersection of technology and everyday living. It sought to revolutionize the way we interact with our living spaces by leveraging the power of the Internet of Things (IoT). The core premise was to create a seamlessly integrated ecosystem within a residential setting, where various IoT devices collaborated harmoniously to enhance convenience, security, and energy efficiency.

The project kicked off with a meticulous selection of hardware components, including sensors, actuators, and microcontrollers. Each element was chosen for its compatibility, reliability, and adaptability to the specific needs of a smart home environment. These components formed the backbone of the system, allowing for real-time communication and control through a centralized interface. This interface was carefully designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, ensuring that homeowners could effortlessly manage various aspects of their living space.

One of the standout features of this project was its ability to autonomously adapt to user preferences and changing conditions. For instance, occupancy sensors intelligently regulated lighting and climate settings based on the presence or absence of individuals in a room. Environmental sensors monitored factors like temperature, humidity, and air quality to optimize the living environment for comfort and well-being. The security aspect was equally robust, with motion detectors and door/window sensors providing real-time alerts in case of unauthorized access.

One of the project’s key achievements was the integration with cloud-based platforms. This breakthrough allowed homeowners to remotely monitor and control their smart home systems from anywhere in the world, provided they had an internet connection. This meant that, even while away, homeowners could ensure their homes were secure, comfortable, and energy-efficient. My academic ambitions haven’t, however, prevented from actively participating in various extracurricular activities. Being an active sports enthusiast, I was a part of a national-level under-14 soccer tournament, also represented my college and office in Table Tennis, Badminton and Cricket Tournaments. I was also part of NGO club named Samarthan in my college and was involved in organizing Blood Donation Camp.

My prior academic pursuits and professional experiences have significantly broadened my understanding of key Computer Science concepts. During my final year of Engineering, I got placed into one of the top product based startup XYZ as a software engineer. In my very first year at XYZ, I was involved in developing a ChatBot Application which is responsible for simplifying the process of Scheduling call with customer service agents thereby helping resolving customer issues at priority. Due to the success of this application, I received numerous appreciation and recognition and also paved my path in budding IoT startup in transportation sector.

I took on the role of a Senior Data Engineer at ABC, India’s largest fleet management software company. Leading a team, our primary focus was to harness the wealth of data collected through the company’s extensive network of over 100,000 devices installed in commercial fleets. Our specific objective was to analyze data generated by IoT sensors and assess routes based on various factors such as travel time between destinations, tolls en route, wear and tear on commercial vehicles, and fuel efficiency. To achieve this, I integrated diverse data sources, including relational databases and information from SaaS applications, ensuring real-time synchronization. Employing stream processing for data ingestion, we processed and loaded data as soon as it was generated, enabling swift and efficient analysis.

For last two years we have been able to rank order most of the national highways of India based on parameters and most importantly has led to savings of millions of dollars. This initiative has also led to our product and findings been shared with Transportation Ministry of India. My last two year stint with ABC has further strengthened my conviction to pursue my career in IoT domain.
