In India, I did my engineering course from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras). Fortunately, I got multiple opportunities to get interact with post graduate students, and faculties of Material Science department. Also, by virtue of being able to select multiple electives, I developed a bent to study subjects like Modern Materials, Materials and Processing Techniques, Electronic Materials, Composite Materials, Modern Experimental Techniques, and Physics of Materials. These instances invigorated interest in me to deep dive into this domain. By then I had also realised immense potential of being a professional in this specialisation.
In my final year of engineering I took Advanced Composite Materials for Aerospace Applications my engineering project within the realm of material science and engineering. Its primary goal was to explore the development and application of advanced composite materials with tailored properties for aerospace components. Through extensive research, we delved into the synthesis and characterization of composite materials, meticulously selecting matrices and reinforcements to achieve optimal strength-to-weight ratios. The project also involved in-depth analysis of thermal and mechanical properties, ensuring that the materials met the stringent requirements of aerospace environments. Additionally, we conducted rigorous testing, including tensile, compression, and fatigue tests, to validate the performance and reliability of the developed composites. This project not only showcased the potential for innovative materials in aerospace applications but also provided invaluable insights into the complex interplay between material composition, processing techniques, and performance characteristics.
Being part of the syllabus, I had the opportunity to delve into numerous journals, present various papers, and engage in projects. These experiences further solidified my fascination with Nanotechnology in electronics materials. My first assignment was regarding Development of High-Strength Composite Materials for Automotive Components project represents a forward-thinking endeavor within our corporation’s Material Science Engineering division.
